You’ve got to see DC – Shazam! if you thought that would make a cool premise. The film will be released on April 5. A 14-year old boy (Asher Angel) receives superpowers from a wizard, after visiting another world on a subway (sounds crazy, but rock along with us). He only has to say SHAZAM. Zachary Levi plays him as an adult superhero. This is like a teen boy dream come true, right?
The thing is that there is a learning curve. We can see it in the exclusive clip above. You can have the superpowers of a hero, but you must also learn how to use those powers. Billy has been transformed into Shazam. His foster brother Freddy, played by Jack Dylan Grazer, is helping him to understand his powers. Although it may seem easy to “Superman” by throwing your fist into the air, it is not always successful.
See the hilarious picture above and make sure you visit theaters April 5th to see , Shazam!. Below is a full synopsis.
It only takes a little magic to make us all superheroes. Billy Batson (Angel), a street-smart 14-year old foster child, can transform into adult Super Hero Shazam by shouting one word – “SHAZAM!” Thanks to an ancient wizard, this street-smart teenager can become Levi (Levi). Shazam, despite his ripped and godlike physique, is still a child at heart. He enjoys this adult version by having fun with it. Can he fly? Does he possess X-ray eyesight? Can he shoot lightening out of his hand? Can he pass his social studies exam? Shazam tests the limits of his powers with the joyous recklessness of a young child. He’ll have to learn these powers fast to defeat the evil forces controlled by Dr. Thaddeus (Strong).
