Jaegers are the giant robots that humans created to fight those annoying alien sea creatures.Β Idris is always perfect and that is true here.Β It is his gravitas as a seasoned pro marshaling forces to make one final stand against these creatures that drives the emotional core of the film.
Charlie Day and Burn Gorman steal the show as the Laurel and Hardy versions of the nerdy scientists who come to their rescue.Β Ron Perlman, a veteran actor who has played a variety of roles over the years, is hilarious as he plays the evil black-marketeer.Β Rinko Kikuchi is the Japanese protΓ©gΓ©e with her own heartbreaking secrets.
Del Toro films always have a lot of detail, and are well-thought out. This is how it should be.Β Hear that the “Lone Ranger”, “Man Of Steel”, “White House Down” and other films are not these horrible blockbusters.Β Del Toro and his team should be awarded the Oscars for Visual, Animation and Sound Effects right away.Β Del Toroβs mastery of the otherworld and artistic integrity creates excitement, magic and good old-fashioned fun.Β The “Pacific Rim”, movie experience is the most exciting one this summer.
